Structure of the New TownA
strip of land covering approximately 2,700 ha and extending 6 km from east to
west and 18 km from north to south has been developed in the central part of the
New Town as "Research and Education District", where national experimental, research
and educational institutions, commercial and business facilities, housing, and
so on are systematically arranged. The areas outside the Research and Education
District are called "Suburban District", and are under development for the balanced
growth of the city.
