DEVELOPMENTS IN THE SURROUNDING SUBURBAN DISTRICT

In accordance with Surrounding Suburban District Development Plan, Urban Renaissance Agency has developed Tsukuba Techno-Parks in Toyosato, Oho and Sakura. Urban Renaissance Agency has completed the Western Tsukuba Industrial Park, the former site of Expo, acting as a sole contractor of Ibaraki Pref. Techno-Park Toyosato is an environment where research and production can be carried out in comfort and serenity, leaving the surrounding woods untouched. Twenty-six companies have been already located and in operation. Techno-Park Oho, adjacent to Tsukuba Northern Industrial Park, is occupied by 10 high technology industries. It developed while fitting into the local environment;e.g.adopting a new (on site storage) sewage system. Techno-Park Sakura, taking advantage of its nearness to City Center and University of Tsukuba, is completed under a land readjustment project to be a multifunctional town with a harmonious coexistence of residential, institutional and business sections.
