URBAN FACILITIESThe
residential district is made of a number of neighborhood community clusters. Facilities
which support daily life such as parks, schools, kindergartens, public halls,
medical offices and shops are placed in each cluster within a walking distance
and are connected by walkways.
EDUCATIONAL
FACILITIES
Educational facilities, i.e. kindergartens,
elementary schools, junior and senior high schools, are built taking the population
increase and the changing family structure into consideration. 9 kindergartens,
10 elementary schools and 7 junior high schools were built anew or expanded, and
3 new senior high school opened. Those educational facilities, administered by
the municipality, were constructed by UD and transferred to the city on long-term

SERVICE FACILITIES
Tsukuba Central Police
Station, Tsukuba-Gakuen Post Office and Tsukuba Telephone and Telegram Office
are open. There is a branch police station and a branch post office in each community
of Namiki and Matsushiro, and a branch post office in Takezono. The Tsukuba Fire

nursery schools and 10 children's halls were built in Takezono,
Namiki, Matsushiro, and other communities. For medical facilities,
University of Tsukuba Hospital, Tsukuba Medical Center are in
the city, and medical offices for internists, dentists and other
specialists are in each community.

EDUCATION AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
In
TSC, the following centers for cultural activity have been established;
Tsukuba Center building, Tsukuba Culture Center "ARS"
and civic Friendship Center "Tsukuba CAPIO" and Tsukuba International Congress Center(Epochal Tsukuba) . Public
halls serving as social education facilities have been built in
Takezono, Namiki, Azuma, Matsushiro, Ninomiya and Kasuga.
