GSI
maintains geodetic control points and provides the 1/25,000 scale topographic
maps and other national base maps on various scales. GSI also carries out research
and development of survey technologies and their application (e.g. space geodesy,
GIS(Geographic Imformation System), earthquake prediction, volcanic hazard mitigation
