  2. Introduction of voluntary activities held at Tsukuba Information Center

    Various pamphlets given out to visitors as well as goods on displays are available here at Tsukuba Information Center. In addition, part of the facilities are lent out for free to group of volunteers whose activities aim at helping foreign residents improve and boost their convenience. The following the introduction of two activities held at regular basis;

    - KEYAKI NO KAI (Japanese language course for foreign residents)
    Classes take place on every Tuesday morning. Approximately 50 students are learning at the moment. There are three classes, “Introductory”, “Beginner I” and “Beginner II” so that students are able to learn according to their level of proficiency.
    Teachers are very much dedicated with many years of Japanese teaching experiences as a volunteer. Students are also enthusiastic in learning, and actively improving their Japanese language skills. Recruiting takes place twice a year.

    - KOUKI KAI (“Ikebana” - An indigenous Japanese flower arrangement)
    Lessons are held three times a month all in the morning. The instructor provides lesson alone yet she really enjoys teaching as seen from her expression. There are about 10 students taking lessons at the moment. Students in the past are now able to take lessons again in order for them to keep skills, and some of those students are also taking lessons at the moment. Term for foreigners is now unlimited.
