●Railway Construction Plan | | | Tsukuba
Express, which will link Tsukuba in Ibaraki with Akihabara in Tokyo in 45 minutes,
is currently under construction and is scheduled to open services in 2005. The
transportation network in the north-eastern part of the metropolitan area will
be improved, relieving the congestion on the existing Joban Line. Tsukuba Express
Project will not only directly link two great international information centers,
but will also promote development along the line. Tsukuba Express will encourage
the exchange of people and information while promoting local growth and the construction
of residential districts. The ripple effects of the project will be far reaching
in both economic and cultural terms. Construction on Tsukuba Express Project has
begun, carrying with it the dreams of many. |
